Latvian Cup 2nd stage

You can look at three things forever - how the fire burns, how the water flows and how one of the best shooters in the Baltics fights for victory in the competition.

Two days and 200 targets were not enough to find out who should get on the top step of the podium in the 2nd stage of the Compak Sporting Cup of Latvia - both Estonian shooter Veiko Tihvans and Latvian representative Arnis Romans showed the same result of 195/200 in the overall rating.

Arnis was in the lead in the shootout until the third stand with a two-goal lead, but then luck turned away from Arnis and the shootout ended with Veiko's victory.

Simas Petraitis took the third place in the overall ranking, Kristaps Broks, Girts Runnis and Emil Juht made it into the top six.

In the women's competition, Iveta Tīle left all shooters behind, the second and third places were taken by guests from Lithuania - G.Stanislovaityte and V.Roerbaek.

In the senior competition, the top step of the podium goes to V.Cheprov, second place to V.Teilans, bronze to A.Aleksiunas.

In the junior competition, the best was Aleksis Ziemiņš, the second Rūdolfs Godmanis, the third Kārlis Zvirgzdiņš.

Arnis Romans triumphed in Latvia's A group, Kristaps Broks was second, Ģirts Runnis was third. In group B, in a fierce shootout until the first mistake, R.Kabineckis was more successful, second was J.Lauris, third was A.Svārups (with a comeback, Andri!).

In group C, gold medal for E.Treiman, silver for K.Dakstiņš and bronze for M.Margevic.

The Riga stage was the first competition for which shooting teams were entered. This time, the honor of the winners and the biggest bottles of champagne went to Estonia, Lithuanian shooters took second place, "Lāčkoki" took third place, "Oksalis" team came fourth, Lapinu blice or "Artemīda" came fifth, Grobiņa shooters from "Ludza Shooting center" took sixth place.

In general, two days at the Riga shooting range were spent in an exciting, interesting and friendly atmosphere, which was not hindered even by the changing weather conditions.

The Latvian Sporting Federation congratulates all the winners and invites you to the next stage of the Latvian Compak Sporting Cup in the heart of Latgale - Rēzekne on May 25 and 26.
